Ever since its inception, SPIL, Mumbai has sought to encourage the interest in International Law, not only within Government Law College but on a far broader scale. SPIL wishes to accomplish this vision through its workshops, lecture series, debates and paper presentations.

Debates have, through time immemorial, served as an outstanding means for thought formulation sparked by an evaluation of contrary thought. It enables the budding lawyers of our institution to hone the art of persuasion and articulate expression of thought. Students have relished the opportunity to expound theories, and deliberate upon them. Debates at our organization are always a lively and engaging experience, on a variety of subjects spanning the spectrum of international law. The enthusiastic participation of students as well as the faculty has rendered them a popular activity.
